Responsibility

The Warehouse Shipping Supervisor at Sonoco is responsible for overseeing the warehouse operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and accuracy in shipping and inventory management. This role involves supervising staff, coordinating logistics, and maintaining compliance with standard operating procedures to support the overall production process. Maintain a safe and secure work environment by correcting unsafe acts/conditions and facilitating safety meetings. Supervise and coordinate the employees and activities of the plant warehouse function. Collaborate with internal and external logistics teams to ensure consistent flow of shipments. Review and compile bills of lading for completeness and accuracy. Facilitate shipments of finished products and scrap. Assist with inventory status of finished goods and packaging materials, ensuring accuracy. Coordinate customer releases and orders with outside warehouses and other plants. Enter shipping releases into MFG PRO and OTM systems as required. Ensure proper maintenance of all company property. Facilitate training for subordinates, including forklift training and QAD transactions. Initiate, review, and follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the area of responsibility. Coordinate with packaging sort house and demand planners to maintain necessary packaging levels. Maintain internal warehouse utilization at a goal of greater than 90%. Manage FIFO for shipments and consumption. Provide direct support to all departments in the plant via material handling
