Responsibility

In a Distribution Center setting, the Material Handler is a multi-faceted role tasked with various responsibilities. Their main aim is to help ensure that Inbound and/or Outbound freight is processed efficiently, on time, and with utmost safety. In the Distribution Center environment, there are many activities associated with the fulfillment of orders. These operations may include Receiving, Labeling, Putaway, Order Picking, Slotting, Replenishment, eComm order fulfillment, Hybrid throwing, and Loading, among others. Work assignments may require operating powered and manual industrial equipment and RF guns, and some may need additional training for specific roles, such as Inventory Control. Develop and maintain a detailed production log that records any changes made to assignments, all instances of downtime, and all scheduled and impromptu meetings to ensure that productivity records remain reliable. Carries out any other duties as assigned to meet the company's needs. These skills will include using email, managing calendars, and creating documents. Habitual pushing and pulling of equipment and materials. Repeated standing involved in driving power-driven machinery and completing tasks. Walking often and predominantly confined to the warehouse space. Maintaining physical flexibility through everyday actions like bending, contorting, and squatting. External weather patterns and proximity to exit routes and dock doors can impact the extent of exposure to extreme temperatures for people. The DC conveyor/sortation system and powered industrial equipment emit a moderate amount of noise. The operation of powered industrial machinery may occasionally result in small vibrations. Possibility of coming in contact with noxious gases and suspended matter
