Responsibility
Reporting to the HR & Payroll Supervisor, the talent acquisition specialist is the colleges employee recruitment specialist, and will provide guidance and assistance to college administrators regarding the employment process. They will ensure compliance with EEO/AA, VCCS and DHRM requirement’s in the advertisement, screening, referral, selection and hiring of student, wage, faculty, and classified full time employee’s. Coordinates the college’s employment process for classified, administrative faculty, faculty, wage, and student positions. Develops ads in an easy-to-read format, and in accordance to VCCS and DHRM policy. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with college managers and supervisors to ensure easy facilitation of employment process. Prepares applicant pools and submits to committee within established timeframes. Prepares salary offers to include accurate and detailed comparative salary data. Ensure recruitment process is completed within the time frame established by DHRM and or the VCCS. Promptly notifies supervisor of problems and/or concerns. Resolves recruitment problems and difficult issues promptly. Interpret and provide effective guidance related to EEO guidelines and fair employment practices on a daily basis. Train Supervisors on the interview process as needed. Serves as the liaison for the V3 Veteran Program. Attend training to maintain certification. Submit quarterly reports for the Veteran Office. Assist in HR activities, such as Employee Appreciation Day, Founders Day, and other event’s on campus. Conduct training sessions on various HR topics related to recruitment and selection
