Responsibility

Supervise the personnel and activities of various sections of the laboratory on the 2nd or 3rd shift for effective and efficient operations. Perform all functions of the Medical Technologist as needed. Supervise the managerial, technical, and educational functions, including supervision of shift personnel. Supervise blood collection and transfusion services of shift. Perform and supervise performance of clinical analyses. Implement, assess, and document quality assurance procedures according to established protocol. Develop and maintain operational plans for laboratory instruments and management of departmental materials according to College of American Pathologists (CAP) requirements. Communicate and consult with physicians, technologists, and other health care professionals. Develop and utilize a program for self-improvement and professional development, including completion of all departmental continuing education requirements. Performs all other duties as assigned
