Responsibility

Purchasing Manager is responsible for the execution of sales, expense, and profitability targets established by Bona. This position is responsible for ensuring the purchasing and sourcing of raw materials, components, and third-party produced products within Bona policies and guidelines. This individual will help to ensure an uninterrupted and timely supply, at optimum cost, within specifications. This position will support Bona’s Pro, Retail, and Industrial Coatings divisions. Contributes to the Global Purchasing and Sourcing strategy and planning of activities within the region by analyzing current strategies and proposing improvements. Formulates regional strategy and develops budget through consultation and interaction with relevant stakeholders and plans and provides direction for activities within the region. Ensures regional alignment with corporate contracts, initiatives, policies, and programs. Performs market research to effectively make decisions; key cost drivers, market dynamics and issues, areas for innovation, and alternative suppliers within the region. Collaborate with key stakeholders – especially within Product Management, R&D, Environment, Finance and Sales – to formulate requirements and specifications for region. Supports regional management by providing monthly/quarterly price updates, discussing strategies, priorities, and issues, and advising budget holders and experts on choosing suppliers and products. Initiates and leads implementation of synergy, cost savings, and risk reduction programs within the region. Supports supplier selection and provides feedback on performance of suppliers and identifies alternatives. Negotiates and manages supply agreements and contracts within the region and ensures that all relevant stakeholders are fully engaged and informed. Manages vendor and supplier relationships: establishes good, reliable sources of supply and ensures performance. Optimizes and provides information on an ongoing basis for purchased goods, indexes, and forecasts. Familiarity with all applicable corporate and site policies and procedures, with regard to personal conduct and SHE standards. Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations. Able and willing to work necessary hours to meet all project deadlines, travel when necessary. POSITION PURPOSE The Sr. Purchasing Manager is responsible for the execution of sales, expense, and profitability targets established by Bona. This position will support Bona’s Pro, Retail, and Industrial Coatings divisions POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DUTIES QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business and/or equivalent work experience 2. Minimum of 10-15 years’ experience sourcing/purchasing raw materials in a manufacturing environment 3. Must have experience buying raw materials, chemicals, and components for Paints and Coatings Industry 4. Experience with sourcing components internationally is highly desired 5. Experience in freight, sea freight, and logistic setups is a plus 6. Strong negotiations skills 7. Must have experience managing purchasing and sourcing associates 8. Extensive working knowledge of PC functions and Microsoft Office programs including: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint. 9. Working knowledge of MRP systems – SAP is highly desired 10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, display initiative, and solve problems with proficiency JOB DUTIES: 1.
