Minimum qualifications: • PhD in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience. • 15 years of experience in research. • Privacy domain experience. Preferred qualifications: • 20 years of professional experience across research and engineering. • Experience integrating multiple systems together, and applying existing technologies versus reinventing. • Experience working with distributed teams working across multiple time zones and geographies. • Expertise in privacy technologies. • Knowledge of Privacy in connection with ML, and the ability to read code. • Strong Privacy Research credentials as evident from highly cited publications in conference, and a thought-leader in the area. About the job As a Senior Director and Distinguished Scientist, you will be responsible for researching, developing, and landing ambitious Privacy solutions that will have a profound impact across Google’s user base. You will be responsible for orchestrating research and technologies across the Research business area into a single, cohesive technical roadmap. In addition, you will serve as a thought leader in the Privacy domain both internally and externally. As an expert in the Privacy space, you'll have the opportunity to prove out ambitious projects that address the privacy pain points of our users. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $316,000-$469,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
