Equivalency Provision: Additional college coursework beyond an associate's degree or equivalent college units in computer science, information technology, technology management, or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification, from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation, may substitute for required experience on a year-to-year basis up to two years. Responsibility

Under general direction, the Principal Systems Analyst manages programming support teams for large applications; plans, organizes, supervises, and participates in studies for system development and/or revision for business or educational applications; develops solutions to identified system needs and problems and prepares system specifications for new or revised computer system applications. Principles and methods of report design and forms control. Configuration management with commercial off-the-shelf software (COTS). Customer Focus – Attending to the needs and expectation of customers. Relationship Building – Establishing rapport and maintaining mutually productive relationships. Managing Performance – Ensuring superior individual and group performance. Business Process Analysis – Defining, assessing, and improving operational processes and workflow. Project Management – Planning and tracking projects to ensure they are on-time, on-budget, and achieve their objectives
