Job highlights

Qualification

Ideal candidate is one who is self-motivated, has a strong interest in basic/translational research, and is committed toward the development of a research program. Attentive personal mentorship and investment in their career interests is assured. A good command of English (written and verbal), effective communication skills, keen attention to detail, and ability to design, perform and analyze experiments independently as well as in a team are necessary. Interests in contributing to a positive lab culture is also essential

Responsibility

Posting ahead to recruit a motivated postdoctoral researcher or staff scientist with curiosity toward platelet and megakaryocyte biology, and expertise in molecular biology, cell signaling and omics data analysis. Overall objective of the research is to uncover cross-functional roles of platelets (and parent megakaryocytes) in disease settings beyond their classical role in hemostasis and thrombosis (e.g. cancer, inflammation, infection). Research strategies include integrating multi-omics discovery with molecular, cellular and in vivo approaches

Job Description

Description

My platelet-omics research program integrating both ‘dry’ and ‘wet’ lab research at Stanford (CA) is transitioning to the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Rutgers University (NJ) in January 2024. We primarily leverage clinical samples in functional genomics studies and cell-based assays. Research strategies include integrating multi-omics discovery with molecular, cellular and in vivo approaches. Immediate research goals are in mechanistic characterization as well as clinical laboratory validation of platelet multi-omic signatures derived from diverse patient cohorts. Projects are highly collaborative across institutions. Attentive personal mentorship and investment in their career interests is assured. A background in hematology and omic data analyses (inlcuding experience with R Studio) is preferred but not required. A good command of English (written and verbal), effective communication skills, keen attention to detail, and ability to design, perform and analyze experiments independently as well as in a team are necessary.
