Position Title Postdoc Research Associate – Microbiology Appointment Type Post Doc/Trainee Job Description Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: The successful candidate will join the Rued Laboratory and be responsible for carrying out a project that will investigate the regulation of a class of peptides that are produced by streptococci. They will need to be able to work independently as a scientist, and provide regular updates in terms of data and project progression. They will likely also oversee several graduate students that will be funded on this project. An engaged, self-motivated scientist is actively sought for this position. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship. Required Minimum Qualifications Ph.D in biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, or related biological discipline. Preferred Qualifications • Experience in molecular biology techniques such as DNA and RNA isolation, examining gene expression. • Demonstrated experience in mammalian tissue cell culture. • Familiarity with using systems such as high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). • Experience in working with biosafety level two microorganisms. • Documented history of publications. • Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).
