Responsibility

The Sponsor requires support specializing in network engineering and digital forensics. The Contractor Team shall assist with continuous monitoring of IT systems that are required to sustain Sponsor accreditation of these systems. The Contractor Team shall coordinate engineering projects including performing technical risk assessment, de-conflict implementations, and resolve technical questions or conflicts. The Contractor Team shall diagnose network issues and follow troubleshooting procedures for restoring the network to optimal performance levels. The Contractor Team shall gather performance and utilization metrics from infrastructure components and proactively inform the Sponsor when defined thresholds are met. The Contractor Team shall guide networking engineering efforts in the hardware, software, and virtual infrastructure domain. The Contractor Team shall perform moderately complex network designs and upgrades using existing technology with limited guidance. The Contractor Team shall perform Tier-3 engineering and support for virtualization infrastructure, consisting of virtual servers, virtual desktops, and automation solutions. The Contractor Team shall prepare technical proposals for presentation to engineering review boards to make changes or add new technologies to the network. The Contractor Team shall provide system documentation to system security managers to support A&A efforts. The Contractor Team shall review user requests for upgrades or additions to the network to assess impact on network performance. The Contractor Team shall shepherd and perform engineering efforts in the areas of Windows and Linux servers, workstations, storage, and virtualization. The Contractor Team shall support network life cycle stages such as design, configure, test, deploy, and maintain. The Contractor Team shall utilize network analysis tools to identify performance problems in the network. The Contractor Team shall diagnose and resolve technical problems with overseas populations. The Contractor Team shall direct or perform the installation of IT infrastructure as well as the installation and configuration of operating systems and applications. The Contractor Team shall inspect and test all equipment prior to deployment to respective overseas locations. Description The Sponsor’s office is responsible for building and operating a hybrid-cloud mission infrastructure and services, hosting COTS, GOTS, and custom applications. The system generally does not make use of the Sponsor’s enterprise IT services as such, the Sponsor’s office is responsible for the architecture, engineering, implementation, and operation of the infrastructure components (computer, network, and storage) as well as enterprise services such as VDI, Active Directory, and audit and logging.
