Job Title: Network Administrator – Research Engineer Duration: 3 month contract to hire Location: Columbus, OH We are looking for an entry to mid-level Network Engineer with strong skills in research, documentation, and process creation. The candidate will be responsible for identifying, investigating, and analyzing unknown or new network equipment, technologies, and solutions. Their discoveries will contribute to developing new data sanitization methods and collaborating with other departments for integration into the business. Excellent written, communication, and documentation skills are essential. The ideal candidate will have a 2-year degree, relevant certifications, or equivalent work experience. Key Responsibilities: Research and Analysis: Investigate and analyze unknown or new network equipment, technologies, and solutions to integrate into existing systems. Implementation: Ensuring proper integration and operation. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures. Process Improve: Identify, diagnose and resolve existing issues in a timely and efficient manner. Communication: Effectively communicate with team members, stakeholders, and clients to provide updates and solutions. Qualifications: Education and Certification: • 2-year degree in a related field • Relevant certification (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+) • Equivalent work experience Technical Skills: Strong understanding of network fundamentals, including LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, and related technologies. Analytical Skills: Proficient in researching and learning about new and unknown equipment and technologies. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Documentation: Strong ability to create and maintain accurate and detailed documentation. Problem-Solving: Identify and categorize IT hardware. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with the various types of infrastructure equipment that constitute a data network.
