The firm is an esteemed quant trading firm known for leading the field in technological and algorithmic sophistication. Running computer-driven and human-led trading strategies, deriving insights from complex and varied data is essentially how the business is profitable. The firm houses a centralised group, almost a centre of excellence, for Machine Learning and Data Science, designed to bring together some of the sharpest algorithmic minds and give them freedom to carry out deep learning, NLP and other ML/data science techniques and create value from the most abstract datasets available . They are currently a group of 30, and looking to build on their success and grow furthe r. The individual shou • ld:Ideally have a PhD in a mathematical/statistical/technical field - the institution should be world-cla • ss.Have at least two years experience working on sophisticated data-rich problems - any domain is fine, it doesn't have to be financi • al.Be interpersonally adept - communication and explanation of research is integral to success in the ro le.
