Overview/ Job Responsibilities The selected candidate will support Agile Application Development technologies and capabilities in the areas of software development, systems engineering, integration, and test of software applications and infrastructure. This effort will support the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) an agency of the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS). • Working 100% remotely within a fast-paced, Agile DevOps team supporting Department of Homeland Security (DHS) client contributing and collaborating within your scrum team daily. In this role, the Ruby on Rails Developer will accomplish the following: • Analyze software requirements and provide solutions • Perform analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, and maintenance of software solutions • Demonstrate exceptional oral and written communication skills • Provide Full Stack software development support for User Interfaces, REST APIs, Data Access Layers • Ensure software developed passes and completes stages within the CI pipeline • Write automated test such as: unit, integration, functional, 508, performance, and end-to-end • Develop in environments that utilize CI/CD tools for build, test, secure and deploy • Develop in a Docker and Docker Compose environment • Develop data access layers with Database schemas using JPA Minimum Qualifications • Need a solid 3-5 years of development experience outside of training, bootcamp, etc. • Experience with Ruby on Rails, React, JavaScript (experience in other related JavaScript frameworks will be reviewed - Angular.js, Vue.js, Node.js, Next.js) • Both Ruby on Rails and React technology stacks preferred, Ruby experience is more important than React, but not 100% required • Experience with similar object-oriented programming frameworks is a good substitute • Experience in Agile Software Development • Experience with software development, software architecture, APIs, and microservices  • Experience with build, deployment, and release automation and orchestration in a DevOps environment including OpenShift, Amazon ECS, GitHub, Jenkins • Experience supporting enterprise Cloud applications or infrastructure • Experience with containerization technologies such as OpenShift, EKS, and Docker • Experience writing and evaluating user stories, acceptance criteria, and pull-requests • Experience working in HCD, Agile and DevSecOps environments • Experience Lean Design, Test Driven Development (TDD), and Behavior Driven Development (BDD) • Experience or desire for pair programming and Extreme Programming, willingness and desire to learn or grow experience in missing frameworks is a must. • Additional Technologies: Typescript, Redux, Rspec, React Testing Libraries are good as well but not required Security Clearance: Must be able to provide proof of US Citizenship and have or able to attain a Government DHS Suitability clearance Desired Qualifications • DHS/USCIS experience preferred • Active DHS Clearance or DoD Clearance • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent technical degree, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, and work experience • Good communication skills, including both language ability and to clearly communicate ideas and experiences. • Collaborative, wants to work as an active member of a team • Open/Experience in Global Key Practices: Full time Pair Programming and Test-Driven Development • Desire to be part of the mission and see the results of your work impacting lives About Sev1Tech LLC Founded in 2010, Sev1Tech provides IT, engineering, and program management solutions delivery.
