Responsibility

Supervise, manage and coordinate District Energy projects, including studies and designs of renewable energy mechanical systems, HVAC systems, energy efficiency upgrades, and energy plans, for both new build and retrofits. Manage all stages of client projects, including budget development, design, construction, budget management, and related project functions and professional contracts, within budgetary, regulatory, time, and quality constraints. Identify organizational requirements, staffing requirements, and operational activities necessary to effectively execute assigned projects. Direct the preparation and/or review of plans, specifications, estimates, and contracts for assigned projects. Coordinate assigned activities with other offices, vendors/contractors, outside agencies, current and prospective customers, and the general public. Identify opportunities for improving service delivery methods and procedures; identify resource needs; review with appropriate management staff; and implement improvements. Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities; and additionally, recommend and implement policies and procedures. Business development activities:. Monitor and manage timely responses to RFP and new business opportunities. Develop client relationships, grow client satisfaction and retention. Develop and maintain relationships within the greater district energy industry. Attend and participate in industry conferences and professional meetings; stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field. Management of Washington DC office:. Supervise overall office administration and general admin functions to ensure successful day-to-day operations, including staffing, HR, IT, insurance, and other operational activities. Represent the DC office as the Engineering Manager for all contractual, representative, and client engagement needs

Job Description We are currently searching for a Senior Mechanical Energy Engineer in our Washington DC office. Our Energy practice is growing, and we’re looking for skilled and motivated mechanical design-focused individuals to join our team. This position is in our new Washington DC office to serve the Washington DC metropolitan area and the Eastern Seaboard. This office will be tightly integrated with the Minneapolis office as well as the Canadian FVB operation. FVB Energy is well-known for its wide range of exciting low-carbon energy projects, including district energy, geoexchange, geothermal, biomass, waste heat recovery, CHP, and efficiency improvements. We serve a wide range of client sectors across the U.S. and Canada, including utility companies, universities and private clients. Our projects have been some of the largest and most complex climate-change mitigation executions in North America. The Mechanical Energy Engineer position will be responsible for: 1.
