Location: Altheimer We are on the hunt for an experienced mechanic at our Little Rock, Arkansas terminal. The mechanic is responsible for repairs and the maintenance of Class-8 diesel-powered tractors and tank trailers, both internal and external customers, and ensuring the roadworthiness of company equipment. We operate late-model tractors and trailers! The ideal candidate will have: • Maintenance background in the trucking industry • Experience with Kenworth tractors • Experience with Cummins engines Pay: • Up to $30/hour based on experience Benefits: • Paid vacation and holidays • 401k (company % match) • Medical, vision, dental insurance, and company life insurance policy • Weekly pay and additional benefits Technician Responsibilities: • Perform preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers while utilizing personal safety equipment as required • Move trucks and trailers in and out of the shop for maintenance • Open repair orders and charge the appropriate parts to the repair order • Perform tire inspections/appropriate paperwork to company standards • Perform shop clean-up and housekeeping responsibilities as well as other miscellaneous related duties as assigned • Inspects and maintains basic vehicle/accessorial worthiness, including proper fuel levels and tire air pressure, fluid levels, brakes, lights, and safety equipment, and submits reports indicating the condition of equipment • Comprehend and perform Driver Vehicle Inspection Repair (DVIR) process • Install, diagnose, and repair Geotab telematic devices • Perform trailer preps • Trailer and hose inspections per HM-183 standards • Perform work on the frame rail and subframe • Possesses and demonstrates the ability to perform assigned tasks in a manner that adheres to the company safety, health, environmental, and security policies Diagnose and Repair: • Tire/wheel • Brakes and air systems • Clutch, linkage, and transmission • Mud flaps/hangers • Air intake system • Start, charging, and electrical systems • Landing gear and attachments • In transit heat systems • Coolant systems • HVAC system • Fuel system • Exhaust systems • Electrical systems • Steering and suspension Mechanic Requirements: • Must provide own hand tools • ASE certification is not required but is recommended • Computer experience is a plus About J&M Tank Lines Inc J&M Tank Lines, Inc. is a family-owned and operated company that has been in business since 1948.
