Responsibility

The mechanic is responsible for repairs and the maintenance of Class-8 diesel-powered tractors and tank trailers, both internal and external customers, and ensuring the roadworthiness of company equipment. Perform preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers while utilizing personal safety equipment as required. Move trucks and trailers in and out of the shop for maintenance. Open repair orders and charge the appropriate parts to the repair order. Perform tire inspections/appropriate paperwork to company standards. Perform shop clean-up and housekeeping responsibilities as well as other miscellaneous related duties as assigned. Inspects and maintains basic vehicle/accessorial worthiness, including proper fuel levels and tire air pressure, fluid levels, brakes, lights, and safety equipment, and submits reports indicating the condition of equipment. Comprehend and perform Driver Vehicle Inspection Repair (DVIR) process. Install, diagnose, and repair Geotab telematic devices. Perform trailer preps. Trailer and hose inspections per HM-183 standards. Perform work on the frame rail and subframe. Possesses and demonstrates the ability to perform assigned tasks in a manner that adheres to the company safety, health, environmental, and security policies. Tire/wheel. Brakes and air systems. Clutch, linkage, and transmission. Air intake system. Start, charging, and electrical systems. Landing gear and attachments. In transit heat systems. Coolant systems. HVAC system. Fuel system. Exhaust systems. Steering and suspension

Location: Altheimer We are on the hunt for an experienced mechanic at our Little Rock, Arkansas terminal. The mechanic is responsible for repairs and the maintenance of Class-8 diesel-powered tractors and tank trailers, both internal and external customers, and ensuring the roadworthiness of company equipment. We operate late-model tractors and trailers!
