Responsibility

Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact towards our military defense and safety of our sailors. Team Submarine offices are also responsible for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating the resources required for the R&D, design, construction, Test and Evaluation (T&E) and Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E) of the submarines. Support PMS450F as the design interface product support element support by ensuring the development and incorporation of comprehensive integrated product support strategies for the VIRGINIA Class submarine. Support the VIRGINIA Class submarine reliability and maintainability (R&M) program lead through management of PMS450F R&M tasking and development of R&M objectives to support the readiness and operational capability of VIRGINIA Class program. Work with PMS450FE7 technical support team task priorities and reviews deliverables prepared for the client. Work with Naval Warfare Centers to develop availability and reliability requirements for new designs. Perform reviews of R&M product deliverables from the shipbuilder such as Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis, Reliability Block Diagram Models, and Reliability Growth Analysis plans. Develop NAVSEA response letters for commitment actions, coordinates the NAVSEA stakeholder review process and comment adjudication meetings with the shipbuilder. Be a key member in logistics and sustainment working groups including the RAM IPT, Sustainment IPT, and Lifecycle Risk Review. Support Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) Integrated Product Team (IPT) corrective actions to address product support programmatic issues by developing slide briefings and facilitating meetings. Participate in shipbuilder arrangement review meetings to ensure proper integrated product support (IPS) considerations throughout system development. Attend 450F/392L Weekly Stand Up, Weekly PMS 450FE7 Team Meeting, Payload Hosting IPT and Risk Assessment Meetings. Have familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within NAVSEA and Team Submarine, working within established guidelines and procedures to accomplish goals. Facilitate other programmatic actions that require coordination between the branches, which will include compiling inputs and working to address inconsistencies to ensure consistent voice and messaging. Team Submarine's Submarine Program Offices are responsible for the acquisition of the nuclear submarines, PMS397 the COLUMBIA Class, PMS450 the VIRGINIA Class, and for SSN(X), the future fast attack submarines. Team Submarine offices are also responsible for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating the resources required for the R&D, design, construction, Test and Evaluation (T&E) and Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E) of the submarines. These programs are major defense acquisition programs and is of significant political importance with Congress and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). Serco supports the US Navy as a prime for their Team Submarine contract supporting the acquisition of submarines. The Team Submarine concept unifies once diverse submarine-related activities into a single submarine-centric organization with the goal of eliminating traditional stovepipe structures and processes that created impediments and inefficiencies in the submarine research, development, acquisition, and maintenance communities. Team Submarine provides improved communication among the various offices that contribute to the overall success of the United States Submarine Force. Serco-NA is seeking a motivated individual to provide programmatic support to one of our Team Submarine customers. Serco-NA has an opening for a Systems Engineer in the Design Interface Division in the Integrated Logistics Support Branch with the U.S. Navy in the Washington, DC area. Submarine experience is a plus, senior navy yeoman is a huge plus.
