Responsibility

All aspects of payroll processing, including data entry, reconciling payroll records, processing adjustments. Work with auditors as needed. Process multi-state payrolls accurately and in a timely manner. Processes withholdings, deductions, wage garnishments, or other special payroll components such as exemptions, and insurance. Respond to payroll related inquiries from employees, managers, and external agencies timely and professionally. Work closely with HR, IT and other departments as needed. Compile and submit payroll reports such as 401k, tax withholding, and other reports as needed. Research and maintain solid knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices. Proactively work to improve processes, promote efficiency and accuracy. Trains staff on payroll processes, procedures, and reports; provides information and instruction to personnel regarding procedures and methods involved in processing payroll. Performs other duties as assigned. Normal Hours: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm. After hours and weekend work, although rare, may be required

The Lead Payroll Specialist ensures accurate and timely processing of our complex payroll across multiple states. The Lead Payroll Specialist provides support and responds to inquiries from employees, managers, and external agencies. Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications: • High School diploma required, college a plus. • Minimum of 3 years of experience in multi-state payroll processing and customer service. • Experience in the transportation industry preferred. • Workday and/or TMW software experience preferred.
