Responsibility

This position will serve as the front desk receptionist and will provide administrative and technical support to the Fredericksburg District Administration. This position requires extensive interaction with a multitude of clients including citizens, utility companies, private firms, VDOT staff, and other government agencies. The successful candidate will effectively handle phone calls, emails, and walk-in requests. Responsibilities will also include sorting and distributing incoming and outgoing mail, and other duties as assigned

The candidate must be able to function well under pressure and handle dissatisfied customers with a positive attitude. The successful candidate will effectively handle phone calls, emails, and walk-in requests. Responsibilities will also include sorting and distributing incoming and outgoing mail, and other duties as assigned. This position is an hourly/wage position. Wage employees may not work more than 29 hours per work week on average over the course of a year and are limited to 1,500 hours withing a 12-month period. No state benefits are provided.
