Responsibility

Develop new and expand existing design and simulation tools for quantum computing experiments. Model and simulate complex structures operating in the microwave frequency regime. Work on a team to develop circuits for quantum computing experiments. Propose experiments to validate circuit designs and simulation predictions based on familiarity with microwave test equipment and measurement methods. Design integrated circuits and other electronic components used in microwave devices. Work with computer programs to model and lay out potential circuit and component designs for a product. Oversee the engineering and manufacturing staff responsible for creating the final device and component. Meet with measurement engineers to validate circuit designs based on measurement data. Perform follow-up work with researchers to make sure the device meets the specified needs. Troubleshoot problems encountered and evaluate quantum circuit performance. Determine potential needs for improvements and upgrades. Propose specific improvements and upgrades for the next generation circuits. Perform chip mod

    POSITION AVAILABLE Hardware Developer, IBM Corporation, Yorktown Heights, NY (Up to 40% telecommuting permitted): Design new quantum bit (qubit) and superconducting quantum circuits. Verify new quantum processor designs and validate their operating regime using analytical and numerical methods.
