Responsibility

Its instruments are deployed in the field and on the line, in challenging environments where customers put a premium on robustness, reliability and ease of use. The Field Service Engineer III position is part of Field and Safety Instruments within the Chemical Analysis Division (CAD) in Thermo Fisher Scientific. Responsible for leading all aspects of field service support and customer relationship management, including but not limited to installation, repair, preventative maintenance, and system calibration. Provide engineering and technical support for radiation and contamination equipment through methods that improve processes, enhance product quality, eliminate waste, reduce cycle time and improve operating performance to meet timely delivery and customer demand. Should be a phenomenal teammate, customer focused, an advocate for Thermo Fisher Scientific, and eager to learn and drive growth. Perform on-site installation, repair, preventative maintenance, and calibration of radiation and contamination instrumentation. Analyzes, reviews, and inspects findings to resolve source of problem, while recommending repair, replacement, or other corrective action. Analyzes instrument generated reports of technical issues to recommend factory modifications that eliminate repeat events. Reviews reports and documentation from customers and inspects malfunctioning product to resolve nature and scope of problem. Display proficiency with the use of customer management software to track service events, handle parts inventories, and complete tasks. Must be customer focused, working in conjunction within a remote team and outsourcing functions. Requires a strong team-oriented attitude, with a proactive and driven approach, while maintaining a positive representation of the company even in high-pressure situations. Coordinates problem resolution with engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs. Develops and conducts training operation of the equipment and demonstrates skills to trainees, including both team members and customers. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills as a link between the customer and the company. Drives progression in training and certification for sophisticated products. Adheres to metrics and target dates for tasks. Lift 40 lbs

Physical Work Requirements: • Must be available to travel daily, up to 70% overnight, with short notice. • Lift 40 lbs. • Occasionally working at heights in manlift. • Stand for long periods of time. • Some overtime may be required. • Must have a valid driver’s license.
