The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) has a position available in the Digital Preservation unit at the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration for a GS-0301-12 Digital Preservation Specialist. As a Digital Preservation Specialist, you will: • Analyze, develop, and propose appropriate strategies, risk criteria, and standards for the preservation of electronic record holdings. • Perform assessments and develop recommendations for software tools and system functionality for digital preservation operations, including format characterization, format conversion, auditing and reporting, and machine learning that can assist in the automation of preservation risk assessment and identification of trigger conditions. • Conduct research and prepare information on a variety of topics related to digital preservation for a diverse audience of internal and external stakeholders. • Prepare presentations, publications, social media postings, etc. on topics related to digital preservation initiatives and operations.
