About you: • You are energized by making other people's jobs easier • You are resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise • You find joy in the details and love checking off lists • You are able to think fast and like being active • You are willing to acknowledge mistakes and learn from them • You don't get flustered when the workload is more than you can get done in a day • You are interested in learning more about the catering business Catering Warehouse Assistant Expectations: • Organize and stage supplies and equipment for catering events • Load box trucks and vans with staged supplies, ensuring that the correct items are loaded and properly secured • Communicate with the service and sales departments on supply issues and coordinate substitutions • Confirm that returning items from events are clean and in good working order and return them to the warehouse • Maintain order and cleanliness in the warehouse, ensuring that equipment is protected and stored properly • Be the go-to for miscellaneous needs such as picking up linens at the dry cleaners, filling up gas in trucks, picking up last minute supplies at the grocery store, or even making emergency supply runs to events • On occasion, deliver simple catering orders to a location, which sometimes requires minor event setup • Open availability Thursday - Sunday Catering Warehouse Assistant Skills & Experience: • Warehouse or similar experience preferred • Previous catering, event, or hospitality background a plus • Knowledge of catering terminology a plus • Able to frequently bend, stoop and lift (up to 50lbs) • Experience using hand trucks or pallet jacks • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record • Open availability Thursday - Sunday Catering Warehouse Assistant Benefits • $15/hr Seasonal position • -25-30/hrs a week until end of December; opportunity to come back in March as business picks up again • Free lunch provided weekdays in the breakroom • Discounts at all Trolley House Hospitality companies including catering services, Parterre restaurant, and vending items in our warehouse
