Responsibility

The mission of this role is to lead daily culinary inventory, scheduling, cooking, plating, and production to ensure every component that goes out is consistently executed at gourmet levels in terms of flavor, quality, attention to detail, nutrition standards, and presentation. You’ll report directly to our co-founder and COO, Stephen Liu, and work closely with other Sous Chefs, Operations Supervisors, and our Menu Design Team. The ideal candidate for this position has an exceptional palate and is able to impeccably cook and correct recipes as needed; a passion for food and wellness; is a collaborative, reliable, and trustworthy team player; and enjoys inspiring and coaching other chefs in a hands-on way to explain the what, how, and why. Culinary Leadership: Inspire and guide the kitchen team, ensuring meticulous attention to detail, consistency, and innovation in meal preparation and presentation. Recipe Corrections and Improvements: on an ongoing daily basis, send our Menu Design Team detailed corrections or improvements to any recipes coming up or that just went out. Quality Control: Maintain rigorous quality standards, overseeing every aspect of meal production to ensure it reflects Methodology's high culinary standards. Kitchen Operations: Manage daily kitchen operations, adhering to our recipes, portion control guidelines, sustainability practices, and time constraints. Lead efforts to meet and exceed weekly and monthly labor and food spend targets. Scheduling: Assist in managing daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules. Assist with forecasting business needs in regards to staffing, production schedules, and volume. Nutritional Excellence: Uphold our philosophy of "food as medicine" by ensuring recipes are accurate and followed closely by the culinary team and that no “illegal” ingredients are ever purchased or used on our menus. Training and Development: Mentor and nurture the culinary team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and culinary excellence while maintaining company values. Sustainability: Champion our commitment to sustainability by ensuring environmentally responsible sourcing, preparation, and waste management practices. Do everything possible to minimize food waste. Health and Safety: Maintain strict compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations, ensuring a safe and hygienic kitchen environment
