Responsibility

Case Coordinators will assist the Case Team in tracking and maintaining case documents and preparing content. Responsible for organizing, uploading and maintaining case documents on Democracy Docket’s case pages. Track case developments and deadlines; update internal tracking calendar with key dates. Write and fact check case pages. Copy edit and proofread content as needed. Perform research and writing tasks related to litigation and voting laws (ie. read court pleadings and listen to court proceedings). Work alongside two Senior Case Coordinators and under the supervision and direction of the Case Manager. Performs other related duties and projects

Founded in 2020, the organization provides detailed information about important litigation and policy that will shape our elections and democratic institutions for years to come. With a comprehensive database of over 600 cases, Democracy Docket tracks and reports on the latest election and voting-related litigation, providing filings, in-depth analysis, and up-to-date developments about court proceedings. Role Description Passionate about voting rights and democracy and want to gain legal experience? Democracy Docket is looking to hire two entry-level Case Coordinators. Case Coordinators will assist the Case Team in tracking and maintaining case documents and preparing content. This position is an opportunity to learn hands-on the ins-and-outs of litigation related to voting rights, redistricting and elections. Prior experience in a legal setting is a plus but not required or expected of candidates as long as you have a demonstrated interest in voting rights and are willing to learn.
