POSITION SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, purchases parts, components, materials and supplies to support manufacturing operations and production using MRP and Purchasing Requisition s. Employees in this job classification negotiate costs, obtain quotes, select most suitable suppliers, and work closely with vendors and internal and external customers to assure orders meet job specifications and production requirements. This job requires knowledge of materials purchased, purchasing processes and procedures;. and the ability to document specifications, track orders and provide excellent customer service. Processes purchase orders for electronic component parts, materials, equipment and supplies in support of manufacturing and production needs per MRP. Follows established procedures and policies to contact vendors, obtain quotes, choose suppliers, place orders and expedite or escalate orders when needed. Enters order information into system using LN (infor) and updates information on open orders. Tracks open purchase orders using the Open Order Report and resolves discrepancies such as wrong quantities, incorrect products shipped, change orders, missing shipments, price changes, returns, and defective materials. Works directly with vendors to resolve issues and obtain status updates. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned

Experience Required: • 3 years of experience in inventory, purchasing and/or accounts payable/receivable. • Familiarity with purchasing, and procurement processes and practices, and the manufacturing environment. Education Required: • High School Diploma or G.E.D.; associate degree in business administration or another related field preferred.
