Position Description The Department of Computer and Information Science in the School of Engineering at the University of Mississippi invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent in Computer Science or a closely related field by the time of appointment. In addition, applicants must be able to teach a range of undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science, contribute to the development of the Department's growing emphasis in computer security, conduct research in related areas, and supervise M.S. and Ph.D. students. The Department currently has two undergraduate computer science programs: The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science through the School of Engineering, which is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, https://www.abet.org, and a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science through the College of Liberal Arts, and M.S/Ph.D. programs. Minimum Qualifications Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent in Computer Science or a closely related discipline by the time of appointment. The successful candidates will have a solid commitment to teaching and scholarly research. Candidates with an established record of teaching and research will be considered for an Associate Professor rank.
