Responsibility

The Analyst II, International Tax is responsible for international airport tax payments of pass through taxes and the compliance of passenger reporting of international location in South America and the Caribbean. This positions is responsible for the application of international airport regulations ensuring accurate reporting and on time payments. Validates passenger counts and prepares timely passenger/airport tax payment requests in coordination with Accounts Payable teams, Int’l accounting firms and Treasury department. Reconciles tax invoices for internal Company information (i.e. passenger manifest info, rates, etc.) ensuring the accuracy and payment amount due to be paid to taxing authorities. Coordinates with airport GM's and others to ensure accurate procedures are communicated and implemented. Supports International Tax Manager with passenger tax topics including passenger count discrepancies research, gathering documentations for various projects. Research passenger count discrepancies in coordination with airport general managers and/or tax authorities. Estimate passenger tax future payments, analyzing passenger bookings from internal systems, to fund foreign bank accounts on a weekly basis. Coordinates with treasury to determine the optimal level of funding at local banks to ensure timely payments of taxes and to minimize any risks of forfeiture. Analyzes manifests to validate exempt passengers. Compare amount of exempt passengers to expectations and investigates any material differences. In partnership with Spirit IT, design, generate and prepare passenger reports to support the compliance of various self-assessed taxes. Create and maintain passenger tax matrix per IATA tax rule in each location (i.e. exempt passengers). Prepares monthly and quarterly reconciliation of various international tax accounts. Prepares journal entries for Accounting. Teamwork – interacts with others in ways that enhance understanding and respect; perceives the needs of others; develops quality relationships; and deals effectively with conflict. No Travel required

(Finance or Accounting degree preferred but not required) • 1-3 years of experience. • Understanding of relevant computer programs (Microsoft 365 and SAP). • Motivation and Commitment – establishes high performance standards, strives to attain those standards, takes initiative, and demonstrates commitment to the organization and to the profession.
