Job Title Air Quality Engineer (Entry-Mid) Vacancy No VN4299 Employment Type Permanent Contract Type Full-Time Advert SLR International Corporation is currently seeking an entry level Air Quality engineer located in our Denver or Fort Collins, Colorado office. This position will primarily support clients with air quality reporting programs utilizing emission database software, along with general air quality permitting and compliance. The successful candidate will work with a strong team of engineers and scientists to support the oil and gas, mining and minerals, chemical manufacturing, power, and other industrial sector clients. This position offers room for growth and is designed for an individual looking to expand their skillset and learn the consulting business. This full-time position requires an onsite presence at either our Fort Collins or Denver, Colorado office and is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and growing international environmental consulting organization. If you have a disability and need reasonable accommodations at any point in the application or interview process, please contact us at careers-us@slrconsulting.com Job Description Required Technical Skills and Experience • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related scientific field required - • OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline considered with 3-5 years of experience • Proficiency with SQL or a strong coding foundation in one or more other languages with an understanding of fundamental principles and best practices, familiarity with relational databases • Understanding of general petroleum and/or chemical industry processes • Strong written and verbal communication skills and organization/analytical skills • Proficient with Microsoft suite of software, especially Microsoft Excel • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel by airplane or car Preferred Technical Skills and Experience • Experience supporting environmental management information systems, such as Intelex ACTS • Experience with compliance requirements and reporting, such as air emission inventories, greenhouse gas reporting program, annual/semi-annual air permit reports • Air quality regulatory analysis (state regulations and federal Clean Air Act program standards) • Air pollutant emission source calculations using mass balance, emission factors and/or process simulation (e.g. ProMaxâ, VMGSim, Aspen HYSYSâ, etc.) based on specified industry processes • Project management experience (e.g. setting up projects and executing within scope, schedule, and budget constraints) • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau • Experience in non-air quality environmental programs (SPCC, Stormwater, RMP, etc.) Personal Attributes and Traits • Self-motivated; strong analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking skills; detail oriented • Willing and eager to learn new skills • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team • Excellent time management skills • Proactive in planning ahead and problem solving • Ability to interface with clients and internal stakeholders Key Responsibilities Key Responsibilities • Provide environmental compliance and sustainability support to clients by maintaining, managing, and implementing environmental management information systems (EMIS) • Create SQL-based regulatory reports and troubleshoot technical issues with the software platform • Develop integrations with other data sources as requested by each client • Perform air emissions estimate calculations to aid in permitting, emissions inventories, and annual compliance reporting • Provide air quality permitting and compliance assistance for clients including data management, document review, and development of compliance tools • Review federal, state, and local regulations to identify applicable requirements governing the operation of air emission sources • Work with clients from a variety of industries in various locations of the United States • Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments • Prepare proposals, reports and other written deliverables Compensation Range: The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $60,000.00 to $65,000.00. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
