Responsibility

This position will report to the Airport Division Director and is responsible for handling the day-to-day administrative duties for Airport. These duties include providing customer service and information to internal and external customers daily and coordinating office schedules to include making travel and training reservations. In addition to these responsibilities, this position provides administrative support by performing basic office duties, such as copying, filing, faxing, typing standard documents, preparing, sorting, and distributing mail and entering data into various department reporting systems

    The Gwinnett County Department of Transportation is committed to setting the standard of excellence for safe and efficient mobility. Serving the traveling public through our aviation, transit and surface transportation systems, the department consists of four groups: Intermodal Operations; Capital Program Delivery; Transit Program Delivery; and Traffic Engineering, Operations and Maintenance. The Department maintains an infrastructure system that includes more than 2,650 miles of road and right of way, over 740 signalized intersections, the Gwinnett County Transit System and one of the three busiest airports in Georgia. The Department performs this mission with 175 approved full-time positions and a 2021 adopted operating budget of $48.7 million in multiple funds. The Airport Division is tasked with the operation of Gwinnett County Airport – Briscoe Field (KLZU). It is a part of the Intermodal Operations Group. Briscoe Field is located in the metro-Atlanta area in Gwinnett County, one of America’s fastest-growing counties for the past 20 years. The County combines the best of big-city living with the comforts of the suburbs. Briscoe Field is the third busiest airport in the State of Georgia, and is the busiest single runway airport in the State. The Airport Division is governed by a five- member Airport Authority and by the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners. The Airport Division has an Administrative Associate II vacancy. This position will report to the Airport Division Director and is responsible for handling the day-to-day administrative duties for Airport. These duties include providing customer service and information to internal and external customers daily and coordinating office schedules to include making travel and training reservations. In addition to these responsibilities, this position provides administrative support by performing basic office duties, such as copying, filing, faxing, typing standard documents, preparing, sorting, and distributing mail and entering data into various department reporting systems. Preferred candidates will have experience in a public works setting with three years or more of experience in administrative support tasks and up to one year of specialized or technical training. This position is a grade B211 with a salary range of $32,291 to $51,665. The chosen candidate's salary will be based on the County's promotional policy and experience. Minimum Qualifications: • High School Diploma or G.E.D.; • Two years of administrative support or related office experience; • (three years or more experience preferred); • or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
