Responsibility

This is entry level professional and administrative staff work which provides important assistance within the Volunteer Services Office. Incumbents perform routine responsible duties that include coordination of the Length of Service Award Program (LOSAP). This position is designated "Essential" and the employee must be willing to participate during emergency situations in the event of a natural or manmade disaster; special activities/events. Essential employees are expected to report or remain at work when other County employees are granted Administrative Leave. Prepares reports and other supporting reports and announcements that detail the coordination of the County’s Length of Service Award Program (LOSAP) in accordance with Subtitle 11 and relevant regulations. Manages the County's Length of Service Award Program (LOSAP) in accordance with regulations. Assists in preparing program procedures, studies, surveys, reports, and correspondences. Collects and analyzes program data while performing a full range of professional administrative responsibilities and tasks for the Fire Commission Office that contribute to the operating effectiveness of the Office. Composes letters, memorandums, and reports for the Fire Commission Office while maintaining up to date data files, in a confidential and secure manner. Coordinates timely preparation of the annual operating budget and related interim reports. Demonstrates overall knowledge and compliance with Departmental orders, procedures, and directives as well as Personnel Law. Wear and use agency protective apparel and equipment in the performance of their assigned duties, if applicable.
