The Northern Region Parks Division a Division of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission is seeking a part-time administrative assistant with a minimum of 24 hours per week. The candidate should possess excellent communications skills and be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. The duties of the position are answering telephone and directing calls; typing correspondence to include memos, letters, and other documents from handwritten notes and finalizing documents from typed draft documents; tracking responses and deadlines; sending out e-mail reminders, scheduling meetings, data entry in Excel spreadsheets, scanning and faxing documents, filing, ordering office supplies, and other general administrative duties as needed. Looking for someone that is highly organized and has an eye for details. Initiative is important and must be a team player. Bi-lingual of English and Spanish is a plus. Job location in the College Park, MD area. This position pays at a rate of $15.00/hr-$16.80/hr dependent upon experience and qualifications. High School Diploma or GED Minimum 2 years' experience working in the administrative field. A criminal background investigation will be completed prior to hire.
