Responsibility
The Administrative Coordinator coordinates with the departmental manager or supervisor. The Administrative Coordinator responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:. Coordinates and performs all scheduling (ie patient, procedure, physician, machine) for area as assigned. Assists with authorizations and billing as directed. Uses diagnosis to create appropriate scheduling and for billing services and procedures. Receives and directs phone calls, sorts and distributes mail, orders, and maintains supplies. Liaison of communication between other departments, community services, and other areas as applicable. Greets and gives direction to patients and visitors. Maintain lobby/waiting areas, work areas, and office suites. Maintain employee timecards and readiness for supervisor sign-off. Maintains electronic and hard cover medical Library. Maintains brochure and literature inventory. Serves as the American Cancer Society contact for the Personal Health Manager and Wig and Prosthesis. Maintains newsletter database. Assists with Cancer Check, including screening preparation and follow up activities. The Administrative Coordinator reports to the Department Manager or other manager as designated. Minimal probability of exposure to radiation, blood, body fluids, infectious and communicable diseases, and electrical equipment while in the patient care areas. Qualifications • 2 years administration/clerical experience OR Associate's degree or higher. • 1 year health care experience, oncology setting preferred. • Previous experience creating & manipulating spreadsheets and documents. • Intermediate knowledge of medical terminology. • Insurance verification and authorizations experience preferred. • 1 year billing experience preferred. • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (Verbal/Written).
